Bishop’s Stortford

Project Type: Staircase and components
Materials: Softwood, oak handrail capping and structural glass

Project brief

While working on a bespoke building project in Bishop’s Stortford, Croft Group enlisted the help of Multi-Turn to support them with the design and manufacture of a modern carpeted staircase.

Croft Group have earned an impressive reputation over the years for developing prestigious homes across Hertfordshire and Essex.

For this contemporary build, they required two statement staircases that would blend seamlessly with the surrounding interior.

Our solution

The project began with a visit to site, where our expert team collected measurements to ensure the stairs would be a perfect fit.

It was decided that the stairs would be constructed using softwood and carpeted to add warmth to the entry way. To enhance and modernise the design, we added structural glass balustrade and elegant oak handrail capping. The addition of glass makes a huge difference to the space and enables an abundance of light to flow through the floors of the centre of the home.

We also worked with the team at Croft to hide the cranked steels that support the upper stair so that we could give the appearance that the flight was floating.

The final added touch of LED lighting following the path of the strings gives that true WOW factor and finishes off these carpeted stairs beautifully.
