Listed below are some of the most common timbers that we use to manufacture our wooden staircases or components with. In addition, we can source many other commercially available timbers.

Oak

The traditional choice offering exceptional durability and quality. Available in European and American varieties, this hardwood’s open grain oils beautifully and stains to darker shades, perfect for complete construction or featured mixed design elements.

Walnut

Walnut features decorative wide grain lines with subtle curves and indulgent dark purple shades. This premium hardwood is typically used throughout entire staircases, creating stunning, cohesive designs showcasing natural elegance.

Bamboo

Our standout sustainable timber option setting new design trends. This environmentally conscious hardwood alternative is stylish, tougher, and more durable than traditional timber, offering exceptional performance and contemporary appeal.

Sapele

Sapele displays magnificent deep red colours with grand appearance perfect for traditional designs. This premium hardwood polishes beautifully, stains to the darkest timber appearance, complements white primed components, and creates striking contrasts in mixed wood staircases.

Ash

Light-yellow hardwood with medium-coarse grain that stains exceptionally well. Beginning light, it gradually develops richer, darker tones over time, working beautifully when combined with softwood elements in mixed designs.

Redwood pine

Higher grade engineered softwood with distinctive red tinge from high resin content. Slow-grown Scandinavian pine results in minimal movement ensuring density and maximum stability. Excellent for staining and painting, it features wonderfully in softwood and mixed wood stairs.

Tulip

Tulip’s straight, consistent grain delivers an exceptionally smooth surface, ideal for superior painted finishes. This versatile timber works beautifully with other timber types in mixed wood designs.

MDF

Our engineered solution for wide boards, winder treads, apron linings, and decorative steps. This eco-friendly recycled product offers stability, smooth knot-free surface, excellent paintability and carpeting compatibility across designs.
