Each staircase is unique because every home is constructed with slightly different measurements – even those multiple-plot sites. Since each home has its own specific measurements, it’s not possible to manufacture one set of staircases and replicate it across multiple sites. It’s crucial to understand that each staircase, whether it’s unconventional, quirky, or traditional, is custom-made.

Browse our most popular staircase configurations below to help determine which style suits your requirements.

Straight staircases

This configuration is straightforward (literally!). Featuring a linear flight with no change in direction, a straight staircase doesn’t require any special support – it just needs to be secured at the top and bottom.

Quarter turn staircases

A little more visually appealing than your generic straight flight, L-shaped stairs typically make a 90-degree turn after a landing. They tend to take up less space and are often used in the corners of rooms.

Winder staircases

Winder stairs are largely similar to the L-shaped configuration, except they have no landing. Instead, the stairs flow continuously and will use wider treads in place of the landing at the turn. The design has been surging in popularity as more people look to revive their small and compact spaces.

Half turn staircases

Consisting of two flights that travel in parallel, this configuration features a larger landing at the switchback. U-shaped stairs take up less linear floor space, making them a popular choice for corner designs.

Flared staircases

With no landings, flared stairs follow the gentle flow of the handrail for an elegant addition to any style of home. Demand has been increasing for this striking design amongst homeowners who are looking to make a lasting first impression.

T-shaped staircases

Starting with a wide, sweeping flight at the bottom, the stairs are split by a generous landing with two narrower flights continuing in opposite directions. Large and expansive, a T-shaped staircase is designed to make a grand statement.
